Level Switches

A Level Switch is a type of sensor with either a mechanical switch or electrical switch that is triggered to alarm of the high or low condition of liquids and certain dry bulk media in metal tanks. A grounding rod is required in non-metallic tanks.

Electrical level switches are more common and consist of capacitance switches and conductivity switches. It is common to have a multi-point level switch that will alarm based on numerous switch conditions.
